You may ask...

I Already have a logo?  Can I use it as a favicon?

Answer:  Yes.  Well, maybe.

If you already have a logo, it may not work as a favicon.  It may be too detailed.   Many logo's need to be reworked or recreated to have a pleasant appearance.

Bank of America, for example, barely gets away with being able to use their existing logo as a favicon.

See how Bank of America uses their logo for a favicon?  The logo is fairly simple but it still is a little fuzzy when you shrink it down.  This is to be expected.  After all, the icon is only 16 x 16 pixels. 

What about Photo's as favicons?

No problem. 

Below, I took a photograph of my nephew did some editing to create a favicon.

And that's exactly what you'll be able to do too.

Photographs, existing logos, custom icons...what ever you want.
